la jolla
cliffs, marine layer, and a coastline that already knows what it looks like.
wedding photo & film
la jolla,
on purpose.
la jolla is one of those places that does not need a preset. sandstone, kelp-green water, a village that still feels like a village. we shoot here the way we shoot everywhere — true to the light that is actually there.
getting ready above prospect, portraits on the coast walk, vows with the cove behind you. the day has a geography. we build the timeline around walking and weather, not a template.
the light
mornings often come in under marine layer. that is a gift — even, soft, no squinting. when it burns off, the cliffs go gold faster than you think. we plan around that, not against it.
the pace
this is not a ballroom-to-ballroom town. hotel to bluff to dinner can be three blocks or a real drive. we time the portraits to the coast, then get you back before anyone notices you left.
film
the color here is already doing the work. 35mm loves the blues and the sandstone. we do not fight it.

a few questions
- Do you charge travel for a La Jolla wedding?
- No. Santa Barbara to San Diego is home base, and La Jolla sits in that range. No travel fees in SoCal.
- Can you photograph a ceremony on the coast?
- Yes. Some spots need a city permit, and the marine layer or wind can have opinions. We flag timing and a backup early so the day still feels like yours.
- Do you shoot film in La Jolla?
- Digital and 35mm. The coastline is half the reason we still load film.
- We're nearby — Del Mar, Torrey Pines, downtown — not La Jolla proper.
- Same thing. If it is this stretch of coast, we already know the drive.
